January was a reasonable month for equities and bonds

Funds focusing on Danish equities were the best performing with returns of just under 5 per cent. The domestic equity market was seriously affected by the financial crisis in 2008 - on the other hand this market is among the best performers in the beginning of 2009. Specialized funds focusing on IT, bio technology and Latin America did also give returns of around 5 per cent in January.

Danish bonds finished the month status quo. However corporate bonds or emerging market bonds did well in January. The best performing funds had returns of 6 - 7 per cent.

Small rise in AUM

During January, Assets under Management rose from DKK 676 to 679bn.
